What the theme supports
The theme uses semantic headings and landmarks, visible keyboard focus, a skip link, labeled navigation, descriptive image alternatives, responsive layouts, reduced-motion support, and controls designed for touch and keyboard use.
- Directory results and comparison status are announced through live regions.
- Filters use native form controls and do not hide the underlying provider details.
- Tables have captions and can scroll horizontally on narrow screens.
- The support-plan worksheet works without an account and includes a print layout.
Limits outside the theme
YouMatter cannot guarantee the accessibility of an outside provider website, chat system, meeting platform, consent layer, advertisement, or WordPress plugin. Provider profiles call out practical access questions, but the provider controls the actual service experience.
Release checks
Each release should test keyboard navigation, menu focus return, responsive layouts, headings, names and labels, image alternatives, contrast, zoom behavior, reduced motion, directory filters, comparison controls, and print behavior. Automated checks support but do not replace human testing.
- Critical support routes must remain available without optional third-party scripts.
- An access regression blocks release until fixed or explicitly documented with a usable alternative.
- Provider accessibility claims must come from the provider or be clearly framed as questions to verify.
Report an access barrier
Tell Mello Zone which YouMatter page and control caused the problem, what device or assistive technology you used if you are comfortable sharing it, and what you expected to happen. Do not include private health details.
